knitting for winter: update

so, a little while ago,  I  knitted a pair of slippers and vowed to expand this into a full repertoire of winter goodies. Since then, I have finished my first beret (designed by Jo Nathan for Checkheaton), and am working on a matching scarf (with sparkly needles)

surprisingly enough, it was pretty easy, is quite at home on the top of my head, is comfortable among my other possessions and has already experienced the thrill of feeding ducks.
