Assignments and longings.

Recently, it feels as though I’ve been floating along

and it all around me has been a blurr

of stray socks and clutter, paperwork

loitering: between books, in corners,

along the hallway, and on my mind.

We bought a car, a red one, second hand

but new. It’s pretty, I’ll have to show you soon.

I have new boots as well. I’m wearing them now.

And in spare moments, shuffling

through the chaos and assignments,

there have been longings, manifest

in kindergarten water drops (above),

and the geese made for learning.

Lucy Goosey and her mother. I can’t wait to have enough time to (really) begin sewing again.

(Oh, Lucy! How would I ever get through it all without you?)
